Author's Note: So, being the OCD person that I am, I've learned up on how the boys could feasibly do the whole credit card thing and not got caught for so many years. The mentions I make of it in the first chapter will need to be tweaked just a little, because our boys don't just randomly steal stuff like that. They have a method, and typically do it in such a way that it really is pretty much a victimless crime (except to the credit card company). So bear with me. I know the early chapter or two has been wobbly, but we're rolling now. Really! *g*

Make It Right
Chapter 4

It was just a little after six the next morning, and for once, Sam had gotten more than two hours of sleep in a row. His vision headache still throbbed dully, but it was more bearable than it had been in a while, and if asked, Sam could have honestly answered that he felt somewhat human. Not that anyone was asking, he thought with amusement.

“Mmmmmph,” Dean murmured as he buried his face further into his pillow, and even though Sam was anxious to get moving, he’d already decided a few minutes more wouldn’t hurt. He wasn’t the only one having a hard time sleeping.

“Dude, are you gonna eat that or what? It’s not getting any fresher,” Dean says and shoves Sam’s ham and cheese sandwich nearly into his lap.

They’ve stopped for dinner in one of those towns where, if he blinked, Sam would miss it. One coffee shop, two restaurants, a local grocery store that also sells hunting supplies and farm equipment, and two churches. If they’re lucky, Pudunk will also have a motel, but the way things have been going lately, he’s not willing to lay money on it.

I've posted the Never Runs Smooth series in its entirety in both

mal_inara (just finished it today, in fact) but decided it belonged here as well. *g* It's set in the Firefly universe, and takes off after a series of Firefly fanfics that captured my imagination (and has since become a universe all its own).

In the summary, I reference links to where in the time line this takes place, but if you're determined to read it without the history, I think you'll get the gist soon enough as well (but you should read them if you like Firefly. Go on *shoos reader* ;-) .

That being said, this story (which was supposed to be small) was done in request to

terimaru's request for a little angst in her version of the Firefly universe.

If you're taking the time to read it, I hope you enjoy. I felt vulnerable with my fan fiction floating out there in the verse but not archived on my own site, so here it is... *g*

Okay, here's another first (one of many, really. I've been on a tear about tidying this journal up, utilizing it more, making it spiffier, etc).

I signed up for Chapter 10 of "Shadow", which is a round robin Firefly story where authors sign up to take on one chapter at a time.

I had twenty-four hours to come up with between 100-1000 words, and as usual had to trim it down at the end. Wow, am I wordy!

Anyway, if you like Firefly, here's the link to the previous chapters (Shadow) and here is my contribution.

It's been a long time since I posted any of my O.C. fic. Lots of people have been asking if I'm still writing it, and in answer I figured it might be nice just to post what I've got, even though it isn't what I envisioned the whole chapter to be.

You know, this is addictive! Thanks, brandywine421 for the challenge! The picture wasn't easy to write for, but it sure did turn into something other than what I expected!

Also, I know this isn't HP, but could this count as fluff, wishweaver? I can write fluff - really! ;-)

My response? Written in The O.C. verse. I was really looking for an excuse to write another Firefly ficlet, but couldn’t seem to be able to buy there being jelly beans in space. Turkish delights, perhaps, but not jelly beans. *g*

Just as a warning, there's cursing and some frank talk, but this is a teenage boy we're talking about. I'd expect no less. Hope you enjoy!

I've been sick, traumatized, and blocked, although not necessarily in that order, but have still occasionally lurked, albeit silently. I've certainly missed being on line and writing.

Just a warning, this has got curse words in it, but really - when you write from a teenager's pov, how can you not? ;-) Hope it doesn't offend! Oh, and this is O.C.

By the way - ATLB gets worked on this weekend, as I officially dig into the pain/joy/masochism which is NaNoWriMo. Good luck to all you participants out there!!!

This time, instead of doing just one original story (which I did last year), I've modified the goal to be written words applied towards any variety of fics I'm working on. That keeps me from wrapping myself completely around the axle if I start to feel stymied.

It's that time of year again. People are gearing up for NaNoWriMo, and alas... I think I might do the same. But most likely for HP and O.C. this time, instead of something original. Mr. B will kill me if I start another fanfic (have I mentioned I have another O.C. themed angst-o-rama journalled out that has Ryan institutionalized for anger management issues?)... But I'm not doing that. Really. I'll be plugging through ATLB and SitC...

Oh, and I want every day to be like Monday was! Talk about update city! *squees happily at awesome O.C. fics*

On another note, I spent last weekend watching ALL of Veronica Mars... Wow! That show just kept pulling me back in! Let's hope this next season does as good a job. The first season always seems to be the best, doesn't it? *sighs wistfully*

By the way, ATLB is coming along nicely, but as this is a bigger confrontation scene, it's taking a little longer. I haven't forgotten my beloved HP (and can I say how nice it is to finally be able to start reading post-HBP stories? *g*). Speaking of which, anyone have yarn colors (must be super soft yarn) and pattern suggestions for a novice with a keen desire to knit an HP scarf before GoF comes out? *g*

So here I am with a second chapter to the fan fiction story I've started for The O.C. Have no fear, I'm still plugging away on ATLB. I'm rather pleased I'm multitasking (although we'll see how it lasts). I didn't think I was capable of doing multiple stories at once, but so far I'm doing okay. Any mistakes are my own, as I'm not having this beta'd. I'm just posting and moving on. Comments are always welcome!

So here's the thing. With all that's been going on in RL, I've been feeling just a tad bit blocked with ATLB. Not hugely, I've just been... easily distractible. To get myself writing again, I've decided to see how well I do in another fandom.

This is for The O.C... It'll be angst, like all my stuff is. I have an old friend that reminds me of Seth, so writing this has been a lovely trip down memory lane. If you're reading this, B., you know who you are. :-D

I hope you enjoy. I'm going to post on ff.net as well in a few days (ff.net won't let new members post, apparently), but it will be under another name. I know people are set up to get alerts any time I post anything, and I'm too chicken to face their wrath for it not being another HP chapter. :-P
