So, as I mentioned in my Author's Notes, the goal to be done by the end of August? notsomuch

That's okay, though. New goal: a chapter a week. Entirely possible, as long as Real Life doesn't interfere (as it's been known to do).

I'm seeing people upload pictures and stuff, and realize there's lots I need to learn still about LJ. The road to my hell is paved with good intentions.

Well, you can find Chapter 9 here. Someday I'll learn to get organized with making LJ look spiffy, and have cool links. In the meantime? I'll share my new favorite chocolate ice cream brand: Tillamook Mudslide. Yummy chocolate with Haagen Daazy-like chunks of fudge. Can I have an amen? ;-)

I hope you enjoy the chapter. I must confess to some severe anxiety over it. Enjoy!

Finally, after much diligent and devoted help from my betas (thank you, ladies!), Chapter 4 is now up and available here. I hope you enjoy! As always, please leave a review!

I must give a heartfelt thank you to Estel, for pointing out that my fanfic All That's Left Behind is mentioned (in passing) in Movie Magic magazine (Enchanted Collector's Edition). I've been mentioning it to whomever will listen for a day now, just because it means my work is out there, and people are noticing it. Thank you to the mystery author who wrote the article Harry Potter Fan Fiction Comes to Life and gave out my link!

I must admit, when first told about my story being mentioned, I was surprised. After all, I've only got three chapters posted. However, who am I to look a gift horse in the mouth? I have one completed fic under my belt, and this one outlined to the teeth. ;-)

Well, on that note, let me give an update: Chapter 4 is well on its way, and at the rate I'm going, I hope to have it beta'd and posted by the end of next week.

Today will be a combined cooking and writing day... On the menu? Vegetable soup, creamy tomato soup, oven baked balsamic chicken (for putting in salads), salad, bulk bacon (we bake it in the over most of the way so it only has a few seconds to cook in the microwave) and more chocolate chip biscotti, because until this recipe, I never realized how scrumptous biscotti could be when dipped in tea. Yummy! I guess I'll just have to find other ways to eat healthier, because I'm loving this recipe!

I'm off to grocery shop, start the marinade for the chicken, drop fresh eggs by my mom's house (a co-worker is my connection), and show off my name in print.

Have a great rest of the weekend!

I posted Chapter 3 of ATLB on fanfiction.net. I know it's been a while, but the Remus in this world is much different from NANA, and we had to get reacquainted.

I've got something I have to do this afternoon that I'm dreading doing. I've done it before, and I think I'm in the right mind-set for it, but... It's not easy being the grown-up all the time, even if you are. ;-) Wish me luck, and that I walk away with my dignity intact. I know I do it from a place of love, but it's sad how little that helps. It should matter more than it does.

As you, dear reader, hear my words, take a moment and look around you. Life can be good or it can be bad. For me, it's always been easier to see the darkness. But seeing beauty in nature, the goodness in the people you cherish - it's worth the effort.

When I was a little girl and watching the Star Wars series, I always thought the Dark Side was stronger. I mean, look at all the power Vader had! But at the end of the day, he had to wear a mask, and personally, I'd rather be able to look at myself in the mirror and not feel ashamed. A reoccurring theme in my life seems to be truthfulness - to oneself and others. Being true to yourself isn't just a cliche - it's worth the effort. It makes you better able to grow, and *that*, in the end, is what we should all being trying to do, isn't it?

Well, darn! It's a Murphy's Law that the day I post the site goes down. Of course, I shall be getting set up shortly on Phoenixsong.net, but until then, let me also post Chapter 2 of All That's Left Behind here as well.

As always, thanks for reading! Please let me know your thoughts! ;-)
