I'm brand new to the SGA fandom (only in the last month or so), having been turned to the dark side by my beta who has been trying to get me to watch it for years (she's finally watching Supernatural, too, so the corruption is mutual *g*).
Being so new means I get to keep unearthing fabulous new writers I've never been exposed to. ltlj is definitely one of those. Anytime someone does or says something to a writer that makes them *leave* a community, it makes me very angry.
The live journal community can be incredibly supportive and a fabulous place to put yourself out there. It can also be a petty, venomous, spiteful place for people eager to tear others down.
The non-apologies are really offending my sensibilities, too. I don't blame you for wanting to stay out of it. Normally I stay clear of wank, too, but this was too much.
Yeah, it'll get nastier, because that's what it was intended to do. That's why I'm so mad about it. Batshit isn't the victim here, yet they're acting like they are, and that makes me Very. Unimpressed.
