Yes, I read that too at the end of OotP. You have interesting insights into *why* he tried to have a relationship at all, and I think your points are excellent. I hadn't thought of it that way. However - Cho?

Maybe it's just me, but I can't imagine him thinking that *any* sort of relationship attempt is a good idea with a girl whose last boyfriend *died with Harry*. Not that I'm saying it's wrong - it just astonished me in the book that Harry didn't think it was a bad idea. ;-)

I absolutely agree with your assessment that people can't be fixed externally (that's what I was trying to say as well, but am not sure it came across properly). I think that's the majority of why romantic relationships fail, anyway. You're not supposed to look at romantic prospects as 'fixer uppers' - just houses. *g*

However, a healthy, supportive environment would allow our poor dysfunctional Harry to *have* a safe outlet, should he ever choose to utilize it *sighs*.

*laughs* I read that *real* Chapter 2, and oddly Eminem came to mind... (no, I don't normally listen to him, but have heard the song - random association. *g*) ... the *real* Slim Shady please stand up, please stand up... *darn, now I'll have that song stuck in my head*

Oh yes, more action will definitely happen in the upcoming chapters. I guess I'll just put it out there now though- while this won't be a dark!Harry fic, it's not going to be all lightness and fluff either. He's got a dark future ahead, and he knows it. We'll see how he decides to deal with it. ;-)

Thanks for your thoughtful replies! It's always fun to discuss! Cheers!
