So the twist didn't seem too abrupt then? Good. *nods* I was worried. I adore the Cohen+1 dynamic.

Ah, yes... I did it last year, and completed it. I did original stuff, and found that while it definitely made me more productive, it was definitely quantity versus quality.

However, it was a blast to read everyone else's tips and ideas in the forums on how to keep pushing forward, and I got obsessed about that little 'how close to goal are you' button. :-D

I must confess I'm a little shocked to doing it again, but since my husband is so anxious to start reading my original stuff, I thought it would be a great opportunity to try to hammer through some of my ongoing fics that I'm determined to finish. :-D

Too bad there isn't a community for writers that's as busy and interactive as NaNoWriMo is all year round. You'll enjoy it (in a masochistic sort of way *g*). I sure did.
