You're not the first to ask me. Nope, I'm so sorry to disappoint, but I'm not making this a ship story. I was recruited for Phoenixsong in *spite* of my lack of ships in fics. ;-)
You're right. I just don't view Harry as even remotely ready for any sort of relationship at this stage in his life (in fact, I was shocked when JKR put him with Cho (however temporarily) - that's the last direction I would have ever gone... Did it strike you as weird that Harry went for the ex of Cedric?)
For people as mixed up and traumatized as Harry, I've always been of a mind that they cannot be fixed externally - at least not by one individual (in this case, a romantic interest). For him to be truly helped, first a lot of it has to come from within, but also a lot comes from a support base - namely, his friends (and hopefully Remus, too).
If he were to have any sort of relationship, I would view it as I do most any teen-age relationship - a passing thing. For true and eternal love to strike at his age, while not unheard of, is extremely rare in real life, and if asked, the couple will admit that while *they* knew the relationship would last, most everyone else *especially the adults* around them didn't take it seriously for years. Is my explanation making sense?
But yes, Phoenixsong is a very nice site, and I was happy to be 'recruited' there (I love that word *g).
